Laura Lenz is Vice-President, Investments at Generation Ventures, a division of Generation Capital. Generation Ventures manages both direct and in-direct venture capital investments, predominantly into early and growth-stage technology companies. Investing for the long term, Generation Ventures focuses on deep technology opportunities that leverage innovations in digital communication, automation, and security. Laura has over 13 years of venture capital investing experience. Prior to Generation Ventures, Ms. Lenz was an Investment Director at the MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund, where she invested in early-stage technology companies such as CrowdCare, JibeStream, and SurfEasy (sold to Opera Software). She was a Venture Principal at EdgeStone Capital Partners Inc. for seven years, where she was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and managing portfolio companies, including CiRBA, RapidMind (sold to Intel), and Varicent (sold to IBM). Earlier in her career, Laura worked at BMO Nesbitt Burns, including their two private equity divisions, BMO Halyard Partners and BMO Equity Partners. Laura is an HBA graduate from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario (Dean’s Honor List) and completed a General Management Program from Harvard Business School.
